The Informative Years
I have had a passion for music from a very young age. Although my Mum took me with her to a Cliff Richard concert around my 7th birthday, my enthusiasm was strong enough to overcome this. I spent Saturday mornings watching the ITV Chart Show, and Sunday afternoons recording selected songs from the top 40 on Capital FM. My first single purchased was Spitting Image’s The Chicken Song on 7” vinyl (slightly inappropriate for a six year old, especially the B Side), and my first album was a cassette of Michael Jackson’s Bad.
My DJing career began aged 14 when I bought a second hand pair of Soundlab turntables, and my vinyl collection slowly started to build. Thursday evening’s would usually start at Uncut records in Bexleyheath when the new white labels were delivered. Dave Simpson would pick me out a selection to listen to, accompanied by some breakdancing if I was lucky.
Before long, I was playing at various parties, and this soon snowballed into a small business while I was meant to be studying for A Level’s at 16. Gass Club and Colosseum became regular weekend haunts as garage music came to the fore. Alongside a few likeminded friends, I started putting on my own events at local nightclubs including Langtrys, Zens and Delanos. This led to more bookings and before long I was on line ups beside DJ EZ, Masterstepz, Sparks & Kie and MC Creed to name but a few. Slowly but surely, garage music became increasingly commercialised and my interest began to wane.
Perfect Party DJs
In the years that followed, I was often asked by friends and family if I knew a DJ for different events they were planning. At that stage, I didn’t really have many contacts who were suitable for weddings and the like. Having attended a number of these events myself, I soon realised that this type of work was a perfect fit for me. So in 2010, Perfect Party DJs was born.
The business grew quite rapidly via word of mouth, and for the past eight years I have been entertaining crowds at various venues in Kent and the South East. I am happy to travel further afield, and have covered events all over the UK when required.
I work tirelessly with clients to ensure the party is a success. You can have as much or as little input as you like, but the option is there to let me know exactly what you want. My experience of working so many different crowds over the years means I am able to read exactly what music works when it comes to getting people up, dancing and enjoying the night. I try and bring both knowledge and passion to every event as well as a level of ability on the decks that you rarely see from Mobile DJs.
I am more than happy for prospective clients to contact me just for a chat, and can provide a free no obligation quote.
Most venues insist on DJs having both PAT Certification for their equipment, as well as Public Liability Insurance. I am fully covered on both those fronts.
With an extensive music library, state of the art equipment, over two decades of experience and offering excellent value for money, Perfect Party DJs is the best choice you can make for your special event.
